Charity Gala and Ball Fundraising Strategy

Who we help/Charity galas & balls

The gala is the year’s biggest fundraising decision.

Everything about a gala is expensive before it raises a penny. The venue, the catering, the drinks, the entertainment, the print. By the time guests sit down, a great deal has already been spent — and the whole thing is justified by one number at the end of the night.

Which makes it remarkable how little of the evening is usually designed to produce that number.

What we do differently

The giving mix is set before anything is booked. The silent auction opens days ahead so lots arrive with momentum. Games lift the room straight after the welcome, before dinner. The live auction is sequenced to build. The pledge follows it immediately, in tiers, so every guest can give rather than only the ten who won lots. Then payment, Gift Aid and follow-up are designed rather than improvised.
