Software/Auctions
Three ways to sell a lot, from one catalogue.
Silent, live and sealed-bid auctions run side by side, each suited to a different kind of item — with the mechanics that decide whether a lot climbs or sits still.
Silent auction
Runs from days before the event through to mid-evening, on guests’ phones. Volume and breadth, at no cost in programme time. The full guide →
Live auction
Five to ten headline lots called from the stage, with advance holding bids taken beforehand so nothing opens to silence.
Sealed bid
One confidential bid each, for lots where open competition would put people off — or where you want a single decisive round. When to use it →
The mechanics that decide the price
Free outbid alerts
A notification on the guest’s phone the moment somebody tops them, so a bidding war restarts itself. No per-message cost, ever — unlike the text-message alerts other platforms charge for.
Names on the leaderboard
Whoever is winning each lot is shown by name, which is what makes a room bid again. Any guest who would rather not be named ticks “bid anonymously” when they bid.
Anti-snipe, proxy bidding and buy-it-now
Anti-snipe extends a lot’s closing time if a bid lands right at the end, so the winner is whoever wanted it most rather than whoever had the best signal at 9:59. Proxy bidding lets a guest set their maximum once and stop thinking about it. Buy-it-now takes a fixed sum for a lot you would gladly sell at that price.
One clear auction clock
Set when bidding opens and closes once, for every silent lot at the same time, with the time zone stated in plain words so nothing quietly closes an hour early.
Bidding with no account at all
Direct Bid Mode turns the silent auction into the simplest possible version of itself: guests open one link, type their email, and bid. No app, no password, no account to activate, no card details. Optional — use it for a room with a drink in hand, and keep full accounts for an online auction running over two weeks.
Tablet mode
Leave a shared iPad or Android tablet on each table: full screen, no address bar, bigger buttons for fingers rather than a mouse. Password-protected, so a guest can neither switch it on nor escape it.
A lot slideshow you control
One lot per slide on the big screen, holding on whatever is being sold until you move it on. Drive it from the projector keyboard, or from your phone at the back of the room.

Winners pay themselves
A card held on file at registration means winners are charged automatically the moment a lot closes — no chasing anyone afterwards. Placing a bid never charges anything; the card is only ever charged if that guest actually wins.
Add one-tap Apple Pay or Google Pay through the event app and the payment queue disappears entirely.
