Raisely for UK charities: pricing, peer-to-peer pages and the event night

Raisely tends to come up when a charity wants a better peer-to-peer campaign or a donation page that looks like its own. It is good at that. But if your year leans on one big night, I would ask three different questions: what does it cost, does it handle Gift Aid, and will it run a gala?

In short

  • Raisely is an online fundraising platform for donation forms, peer-to-peer campaigns, ticketing, regular giving and supporter management.
  • In October 2026 its pricing page showed fundraising as free to the charity, paid for by optional donor tips, or a 4% flat fee if you switch tips off. Card processing is extra.
  • It takes donations in pounds and can collect Gift Aid declarations, but the charity (or Swiftaid) makes the claim, not Raisely.
  • Its features list shows no auction, bidding or live pledge tools, so it does not run the room at a gala.

I built the Generosity Works platform myself, so I read other platforms’ pricing pages more closely than is probably healthy. Everything below comes from Raisely’s own pages as they stood in October 2026. I am not here to trash anyone. I just want to turn the lights on.

What is Raisely?

Raisely is a fundraising platform that lets a charity build campaign websites, take donations online and manage its supporters, without code. It began in 2016, and its pages describe a remote team across seven countries and B Corp status since 2020.

Ownership has changed. Aplos, a fund accounting company, bought Raisely in May 2023, and in August 2025 Aplos, Raisely and Keela launched as Velora, backed by Alpine Investors. All three products remain standalone, and existing customers carry on as before.

Its features list covers templates, donation forms, regular giving, peer-to-peer pages, tickets and registration, matched giving, a supporter database and email messages.

How much does Raisely cost?

Raisely costs the charity nothing by default, because donors are asked for an optional tip. If you switch the tip off, you pay a flat fee instead. Its pricing page in October 2026 showed prices in dollars, without a currency code:

What the page says (October 2026) Detail
Default model Free to the charity, funded by optional donor tips
Tips switched off Flat fee of 4% of all transactions, excluding tax
Card processing “From 1.4% + 30¢”, paid to Stripe or PayPal
Regular givers moved from another platform 2% of payments collected
Facebook and Instagram fundraisers 2% of donations
Raisely Pro add-on US$119 a month or US$714 a year

That processing figure is Australian: the page’s worked example uses the Stripe nonprofit rate there. A UK charity pays whatever its own processor charges. Stripe’s standard rate for UK cards is 1.5% plus 20p, and its nonprofit discount must be requested from Stripe. Ticket sales and auction payments do not count towards the 80% donation threshold for it.

Is Raisely really free?

Raisely is free to the charity under the tip model, but it is not free to the people giving. Somebody still pays for the software, and on the default plan that is your donor, at checkout.

Raisely is upfront about this. Its page says the tip goes to Raisely to fund hosting, software, security and support. The Fundraising Regulator’s platform guidance, updated on 4 November 2025, says a zero tip option should get equal prominence.

So the answer to “is there a free fundraising platform?” is usually yes, with a footnote. The cost has moved, not gone. With tips off, 4% of a £30,000 campaign is £1,200 before card fees. I set out the same sum for JustGiving fees.

Either way, what the platform earns moves with what your supporters give. That is the model I question, not the company. The generosity is already there, and I would rather all of it reached the cause.

Raisely peer-to-peer and campaign pages

This is the part Raisely does best. Supporters sign up as individuals or teams, get their own fundraiser page, and compete on leaderboards, with badges, progress bars and a Strava link for sponsored runs and rides.

That suits a challenge event, an appeal or a giving day, where the money arrives online over weeks. Before a gala, I would use it the same way: table captains raising from their own circle in the weeks before the night.

Does Raisely work for UK charities and Gift Aid?

Yes, Raisely works for UK charities: its UK page says it takes donations in pounds or 130 other currencies and adds Gift Aid to the donation form. It is also clear that Raisely does not claim the Gift Aid for you.

Its help centre explains the Gift Aid setup: a toggle adds a declaration step to the form, and you either automate claims through Swiftaid, a separate service, or process them manually.

Gift Aid adds an extra 25p for every £1 a UK taxpayer gives, so it is worth getting right. HMRC’s Gift Aid guidance also says payment for admission to events is not a gift (section 3.4.6), so gala tickets carry none. My guide to Gift Aid covers the rest. General guidance, not tax advice.

Is Raisely a CRM?

Raisely includes a built-in CRM for supporters, though it is a fundraising database rather than a full donor management system. Its supporter management page lists profiles, donation history, notes, custom fields, live segments, tags and reports.

The pricing page puts some extras, including custom tags and segments, marketing automation and email journeys, in the paid Pro add-on. Within Velora, the heavier donor management product is Keela.

What do Raisely reviews say?

Raisely reviews look positive, but I could not check them for myself. Raisely’s own UK page quotes a G2 score of 4.9 and a Capterra score of 5, from figures it says were gathered in August 2023. Capterra, G2 and Trustpilot all blocked my requests in October 2026, so read the recent reviews yourself.

Where Raisely stops on a gala night

Raisely’s features list has tickets and registration, but no auction, no bidding, no raffle and no live pledge.

Nothing in it is built to run a room in real time.

The live pledge screen on the Generosity Works platform, showing the pledge total against its target and the number of pledges at each tier

That matters, because a gala total is decided in the room, and whoever holds the room holds the total. Ten lots in a room of two hundred means ten winners. The live pledge, straight after the auction, is how everybody else gives. At the Jigsaw Trust, the auction raised £27,000 and the pledge after it raised £30,600, more than the auction. That was the Jigsaw team’s night as much as mine.

When I plan an evening, the live pledge comes first in importance and the auction second, even though the pledge runs the moment the auction ends. The two need one system, so the gala screen shows one total and nobody reconciles two exports at midnight.

That is the gap I built the Generosity Works platform to close. Bidding, ticketing, the live pledge and Gift Aid capture run on one system. The lots are donated, none sold or pushed, and the charity keeps 100% of what they raise. Payments go to the charity’s own Stripe account, with no percentage and no added payment charges.

It is free when a charity books me as auctioneer and host, and my fee is the only money Generosity Works takes. The platform is not sold on its own; our pricing page explains why. You can book me at thecharityauctioneer.uk, for one fee agreed up front that does not move with the total.
